Seville City Hall is serious about cracking down on prostitution in the area and has begun an awareness campaign in which billboards and posters with the slogan "¿Tan poco vales que tienes que pagar? ('Are you worth that little that you have to pay?) have been put up in problem areas such as industrial estates.

The campaign is being carried throughout the month of September and apart from print media, the council is also organising workshops for prostitutes and is considering issuing fines to clients. Seville Mayor Alfredo Sánchez Monteseirín gave an interview to Europa Press in which he explained that installing CCTV on the city streets is also a possibility. This last proposal has been backed the local residents who live in areas where prostitution is rife, but some associations are against it. The local ombudsman has also reminded the council that only the Andalusian High Court can give the go ahead to this last proposal.
