DISGRACED: Graham Capill at his sentencing in 2005.

Former Christian politician and now sentenced sex offender Graham Capill has had his parole bid put on hold while an address is considered to see if it is suitable.

The Parole Board looked at whether the former Christian Heritage leader could be released from his nine year sentence for sex crimes against three young girls, starting in 1990, the year after he became party leader.

The girls were aged between five and 11. However some addresses available to him were unsuitable and an address with a family member has not yet been looked at to see if it is suitable.

His case was adjourned until August to look at his residential options without his application for parole being considered.

Capill has completed the Kia Marama Child Sex Offenders programme and a report is expected to be before the board for his parole hearing.
