Internationally, Denise is best known for her address at the Second World Congress against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children hosted in Yokohama, Japan in December 2001.
Addressing some 3,000 delegates Denise challenged the collusive silence and failure to address widespread male attitudes and beliefs that underpinned male "demand" that fuels the global child sex trade.  Before a hushed audience, she concluded with a strong rhetorical call on men.  Denise and delegates were stunned when one-by-one dozens of men stood to their feet in response.  It was a defining moment in Denise's vision and work.
