Michael Pinkney

Position: Chair
Professional Background: Company director, Arbitrator, Consultant
Qualifications: FREINZ, AAMINZ
Member:     Real Estate Institute of NZ and Arbitrators & Mediators Institute of NZ 

Mike has held regional and national positions in the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and various industry related directorships over the past 40 years.  He owns a property management company, is a consultant to a number of companies, and an arbitrator.  Mike is passionate about integrity and ethics. He is an active Rotarian and a public speaker.

 

Denise Ritchie

Position: Founder/Trustee
Professional Background: Barrister
Qualifications: BA(Hons)Psych, LLB(Hons)
Member:     NZ Law Society

As founder, Denise brings to the Board a vision and optimism for change.  She has worked on Stop Demand related issues locally and internationally since 1993.  She has been instrumental in law reform changes (child sex tourism and child sex abuse image offending).  She is a passionate campaigner and public speaker, and works full-time for Stop Demand. Rob Kilpatrick

Position: Treasurer/Trustee
Professional Background: Not for profit Director
Qualifications: Dip Theo, B.Th, M.Phil(Hons)
Member: Baptist Ministers of Victoria

Rob has been a secondary teacher, Baptist Minister, Director of a New Zealand missions group, has evaluated programs for an international non-government organisation (NGO), and presently directs a not for profit.  His recent NGO roles have included extensive work in trafficking and gender issues related to HIV.  He chairs several international Boards and consults for two multilateral NGOs.  Rob recently completed a PhD on reconciliation and peacemaking.

 

Sarah Shepherd

Position: Trustee
Professional Background: Travel & tourism, voluntary sector

Sarah has worked in the not-for-profit sector for a number of years. Her commitment to issues around everyday sexism and the impacts of pornography consumption, together with her focus on youth and social media experience, adds an important element to the Stop Demand board. 

 

Mike Shaw

Position: Trustee
Professional Background: CEO, company director, ordained Minister
Qualifications: Dip Matauranga Maori
Member: Men Against Sexual Violence

Mike is based in Kaikohe, Northland, New Zealand and is committed to community transformation. His work with men’s groups involves changing men’s sexual attitudes and behaviours towards women and children both in New Zealand and internationally. He serves in a governance role on several Boards. Mike is a passionate supporter of Massive (Men against sexual violence). This grass-roots movement seeks to speak out, intervene and educate men with the goal of eliminating sexual abuse from families and the community.
